Representing Our Clients Before the Florida Board of Nursing

The Florida Department of Health (DOH), Board of Nursing (Board) is the regulatory agency with authority to license and discipline nurses in Florida. Recently three (3) health care attorneys from Howell, Buchan & Strong represented multiple clients before the Board at their meeting held in St. Petersburg, Florida.  For two (2) days starting on August 5, 2026, Rickey Strong, Michael Lawrence, and John Terrel represented our clients in both licensing and disciplinary matters.

Our attorneys have successfully defended nurses as well as other health care practitioners licensed by the DOH in Florida. We provide legal counsel, prepare our clients to testify, and represent them at the board meetings. At this board meeting:

• Strong successfully represented a nurse who was being disciplined by the Board.
