Howell, Buchan & Strong Awards Three Spring 2022 Nursing Scholarships

Delaney Smith is currently a junior at Florida State University, and she expects to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in Spring 2023. Delaney enjoys working in a fast-paced critical care setting, where she feels she can bring a sense of calm and empathy to her patients in what could be their most vulnerable time. After graduation and gaining experience, Delaney’s goal is to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Miguel Palomino is a senior at Florida State University, and he expects to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree this semester. Miguel currently works as a patient care assistant in an emergency room, where he has gained experience caring for patients from all walks of life. With his degree, Miguel’s goal is to not only provide compassionate care to his patients, but also to influence his fellow health care providers to adopt a similar holistic approach to treatment.

Ashlee Jack is a senior at Florida State University, and she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree this semester. Ashlee is also currently a pharmacy technician, and she has prior experience working with patients in assisted living facilities. Ashlee is passionate about preventative health care, and she hopes to use her experience and nursing degree to help educate her patients about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
