 Florida Real Estate License Defense

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation  (DBPR) through the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) regulates Florida Real Estate Agents and Brokers.  It is important for agents and brokers to be aware of causes of Florida license defense needs.
Some of the most common complaints made against Florida Real Estate Licensees are:

  • Commingling Client’s trust deposits with your own
  • Failure to properly account for trust deposits
  • Failure to properly report arrests and other criminal actions
  • Fraud or misrepresentation of a contract
  • Failure to disclose listing defects

If you have received a Florida Real Estate License Complaint, Let Us Help You!

We can advise you to:

  • Know what your options are.
  • Review your letter from the FREC Investigator.
  • Provide advice on how to successfully navigate the system.
  • Provide advice on settlement versus challenging the allegations in a hearing.
  • Argue mitigating circumstances which might lessen the penalties.
  • Representation before DBPR and FREC.

Establishing a strategy early in the process for the defense of your Florida Real Estate license is the best approach under these circumstances. Howell, Buchan & Strong, Attorneys at Law is headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida’s Capital City, which is also where DBPR is headquartered.
